Our Team

The people working for De Klerk Safaris are all very friendly and will help where ever they can to make your time with us comfortable and unforgettable. We want to introduce you to our team, to help you to know us better!

Hans De Klerk: Hans has been a professional hunter for many years and has extensive experience with hunting dangerous game. He is very much involved with the running of every safari.

Marié de Klerk: Marie runs the office, all the licenses and permits, and the paper trails that come with them. Marié is also an excellent chef and many clients have said that it is worth booking a safari just for the food.

Andries du Plessis: Andries is the ranch manager and he is the guy who builds and repairs, fixes and services the vehicles, buildings, fences, etc. He is also a very good hunter and helps with the safaris.

 

Heidi du Toit: Heidi is responsible for the hunting camp and staff. She takes care that all the chalets are cleaned and serviced, and the clothes are washed every day. She also helps with the meals, and is a master baker.

Yvan Niewoudt: Yvan is a licensed professional hunter. He is responsible for taking clients out hunting every day. He keeps clients company every evening around the campfires and also doubles as barman.

Trackers: De Klerk Safaris have excellent trackers working for them, as can be testified by the many clients who have seen them track leopards, or who have wounded game while on safari. Jacob, Pete and Lukas are the main trackers.

Other Staff: Ben and Lefty are responsible for skinning the capes, salting them, boiling the skulls and generally taking care of the clients’ trophies. Simon cares for the gardens and the grounds.

Housekeeping: Marie and Heidi have four maids who help them with cleaning, washing clothes, cooking, etc. They are Suzanne, Solly, Margaret and Hilda.
