Welcome to De Klerk Safaris, where we reflect the soul of Africa. Our main headquarters are nestled in the Kalahari Desert, South Africa—a unique ecosystem that’s more akin to an open savannah teeming with wildlife than a true desert. Famous for its majestic black-maned lions, enormous springbuck, and diverse desert species, the Kalahari is a must-visit for any wildlife enthusiast.
The Wildlife of the Kalahari
At De Klerk Safaris, we boast over 30 different species of game, including buffalo, roan, and sable. With more than 6000 head of game roaming freely across our 30,384-acre property, your chances of encountering these magnificent creatures are high.
The Best Time to Visit
Our safaris operate year-round, with peak times from March to October. During these months, the weather is comfortable, ranging from 60 to 85°F (15 to 30°C) during the day and 32 to 60°F (0 to 15°C) at night. This is the perfect time to experience the Kalahari’s natural beauty.
